Member Club Registration

Thank you for choosing to be a Basketball Nova Scotia member! We are excited to have you as part of our ever-growing basketball community!

Information on how to register as a member is noted below - please follow each step. Basketball Nova Scotia utilizes the Ramp registration system, and all members are required to register through this process. This ensures we have proper data and information related to our participants. Basketball Seasons:
In 2024-2025, we evolved our annual season into two - fall/winter and spring/summer. This allows us to better report on participation numbers across the province, a requirement of Canada Basketball as well as our important funding partners. And equally important, it ensures we are meeting safe sport standards and protecting not only our participants but the integrity of the game.

Fall/Winter - September 1 to April 30
Spring/Summer - May 1 to August 31

Insurance Certificates: Are available for both seasons and will be received upon registration. Again, connect with Emily with any additional questions on insurance.

	Athlete/Coach Information  Once Step 1 has been completed. The main club contact from the club member registration form will be contacted with instructions to set up their registration process through Ramp. Your athletes, coaches and board members will not be covered by insurance unless they complete their registration. IMPORTANT: All coaches must have their Safe Sport Training as well as their Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC) in order to be on the bench for either season. Please refer to COACHES BACKGROUND
	Participant Fees Once you have competed the registration process for your club or program, you will be invoiced for the total number of athletes, coaches and staff registered. Fall/Winter Season: Minor Athlete Fee: $32 per season - Adult Program Athlete Fee: $17 per athlete Coaches Fee: $10 per coach Staff Fee: $10 per board member/administrator Spring/Summer Season: For those clubs or programs WHO PARTICIPATED in the fall/winter season: no cost however we require players and coaches to register in the system. Insurance certificate will be provided once registration is complete. For those clubs or programs WHO DID NOT PARTICIPATE in the fall/winter season: $15 per athlete; $10 per coach.

The insurance breakdown as it relates to your membership is as follows:

• Directors & Officers Insurance

Directors and Officers Errors & Omissions insurance will pay those sums that the insured becomes legally obligated to pay as compensatory damages because of a “wrongful act”. A “wrongful act” means:

1. Any actual or alleged error, misstatement, or misleading statement made by an insured;
2. Any actual or alleged act, omission, neglect or breach of duty by an insured. Examples are: A coach suing to be reinstated Acts beyond granted authority Causing the association to incur unnecessary tax liabilities Misuse of funds If a person sues the Board for an actual or alleged act, this section responds.
