Basketball Nova Scotia Announces Coaching Staff for 2025 Canada Summer Games

Sep. 23, 2024

The Canada Games is a national multi-sport event that is held every two years rotating between summer and winter sports. The 2025 Canada Summer Games will be held in St. John's Newfoundland, August 8-25, with the basketball tournament running over the first week from August 8-13. Basketball Nova Scotia is proud to send a U17 women's and men's team to the tournament.

Basketball Nova Scotia has selected the coaching staff for both its women’s and men’s teams and is very pleased to bring back 2024 Provincial Team U17 head coaches, Haley McDonald (women) and Anton Berry (men). The women's team will be assisted by Laura Brine and Maia Timmons, and the men's will be supported by Damon Cole and Tariq Thomas.

The 2024 season showed a revised training structure for the provincial teams which proved some challenges, however Haley and Anton were both flexible, adaptabile and efficient with the time they had, and saw growth in their teams from start to end of the season.
