Bursary Program

Basketball Nova Scotia is proud to continue the 2025 Awards Bursary Program to support participation of Nova Scotia athletes as they represent our province at the U15 National Championships in Ontario and the 2025 Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland & Labrador.

Our goal is to ensure that every athlete selected to a Provincial Team can take part in these incredible opportunities — regardless of financial barriers.

This year, we’re working toward a campaign goal of $24,000, which will provide $500 bursaries to athletes who need support with travel, training, and competition costs.

Why This Matters

We know that sport can be life-changing. But we also know that for many families, the cost of high-performance sport is a real challenge.

By supporting a bursary, you’re giving a young athlete the chance to wear the Nova Scotia jersey with pride — and to compete on a national stage.

Bursary Supporter Benefits

As a thank you, supporters will receive:

  • Name/logo featured on the BNS website and social media
  • Inclusion in the Scotia Showcase Tournament Program (600+ printed copies- deadline of June 23)
  • Listing on Provincial Team banners traveling to Ontario and Newfoundland & Labrador
  • Recognition during BNS Awards Celebration initiatives
  • personal thank-you message from the athlete you support
  • business receipt for your contribution

We invite businesses, organizations, and individual supporters to join us in making participation more inclusive for Nova Scotia athletes.
