BNS Development Pathway Sessions

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen long-term athlete development across the province, Basketball Nova Scotia is expanding Development Pathway programming opportunities into rural communities throughout Nova Scotia.

We are excited to offer open U10/U12 and U13/U14 Development Pathway Sessions in regions across the province. These sessions are designed to provide quality development opportunities while helping identify and support young athletes and coaches from all areas of Nova Scotia.

Program Eligibility

U10/U12 Sessions

Open to:

  • Athletes born in 2014 and 2015
  • Athletes born in 2016 with birthdays between January and June

U13/U14 Sessions

Open to:

  • Athletes born in 2012 and 2013

Sessions will be led by Basketball Nova Scotia’s Performance Lead, Anton Berry, and are open to athletes from the local area and neighboring communities, regardless of club affiliation or previous basketball experience.

Sessions will be co-ed and will focus on:

  • Fundamental skill development
  • Decision-making through small-sided games (SSG)
  • Injury prevention and movement education

Each session will be between 1.5 and 2 hours in length.

Our goal is to make these sessions accessible, inclusive, and development-focused while continuing to grow the game throughout rural Nova Scotia.

Please see the information below regarding upcoming sessions, and stay tuned for additional Development Pathway opportunities in your region.
