2024 Awards Night


The Basketball Nova Scotia Awards Night will take place at 7 pm on Saturday, October 5th at Mount Saint Vincent University, celebrating the best of basketball from this past year (2023-2024).

We will be presenting 10 awards in 6 categories, including our special Frank Baldwin Award recipient.

Award categories:

Female Junior Player of the Year- Recognizes a female player at the U10-U18 club level who has exhibited quality performance in the sport, representing their team, club or program with respect, integrity and excellence.

Male Junior Player of the Year- Recognizes a male player at the U10-U18 club level who has exhibited quality performance in the sport, representing their team, club or program with respect, integrity and excellence.

Female Senior Player of the Year- Recognizes a senior female player at any level who has exhibited exceptional performance and embodies BNS values of respect, inclusion, quality and integrity.

Male Senior Player of the Year- Recognizes a senior male player at any level who has exhibited exceptional performance and embodies BNS values of respect, inclusion, quality and integrity.

Coach of the Year- Recognizes a certified or trained coach working at the club or provincial or national level. The coach should aspire to further development in the performance stream of coaching. This coach embodies BNS values of player-centered, respect, inclusion, innovation, quality and integrity.

Official of the Year - Recognizes a referee who is committed to development and has shown progress and achievement at the local, provincial, national or international level. This person also embodies BNS values of respect, inclusion, innovation, quality and integrity.

Volunteer of the Year - Recognizes an individual that has given their time to impact and grow the game in their region of the province. This person embodies BNS values of respect, inclusion, innovation, quality and integrity.

Female Team of the Year- Recognizes a Nova Scotia female team's outstanding performance in the team's respective stage of development. This team also embodies BNS values of respect, inclusion, innovation, quality and integrity. Open to teams of all levels of play.

Male Team of the Year- Recognizes a Nova Scotia male team's outstanding performance in the team's respective stage of development. This team also embodies BNS values of respect, inclusion, innovation, quality and integrity. Open to teams of all levels of play.
